Quebec is the only province in Canada where winter tires are mandatory during the colder months, ensuring optimal safety on snowy or icy roads. Failure to comply with these rules can result in significant fines and demerit points on one’s driver’s license.

How to Get Through Your Written Knowledge Test With Our SAAQ Practice Test?

Before you can get a Class 5 Learner’s Licence in Quebec, you must complete the four modules of Phase 1 of the driving course with SAAQ or Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec. Every module consists of a 2-hour classroom theoretical component and a self-study component. You must pass the SAAQ written knowledge test administered by SAAQ that covers the content covered in class. You can take our free We provide SAAQ practice test before your final exam. After that, you might have your file opened and a learner’s license granted to you. The learner’s license allows you to drive on public roads if you are supervised by a driving school teacher or another motorist. These practice tests are appropriate for the learner’s permit, driver’s permit, and senior citizen refresher exams. In Quebec, the written portion of those tests is the same.

Getting Ready for the Knowledge Test

Preparation is the key to passing any test. We have easy-to-read SAAQ practice test questions on our website that are all free.

You should pass all three sections of the knowledge test and have your driver’s license:

  • There are eight questions about the Highway Safety Code
  • Eight questions about traffic signs and signals
  • Twelve questions on passenger car driving tactics and behavior

SAAQ Practice TestYou will need to study the following three learning aids to prepare for this test:

  • Publications du Quebec Driver’s Handbook is available in both French and English.
  • Driving a Passenger Vehicle, which is offered in French and English from Publications du Quebec Road Access Binder, is accessible in both French and English from driving schools authorized by Association québécoise des transports, as well as from the AQTr directly.
  • In the Check Your Road Safety Knowledge online quiz, you can also practice utilizing the “Illustrated situation scenarios” category of questions. A situation scenario is included in each question in this category.

The three portions of the test depend on the RSEP- Road Safety Education Program’s competencies.

To get a driver’s license, you’ll need to master the following skills:
  • Capacity to drive in a cooperative, safe, and responsible manner
  • Ability to drive a car and ride on the road with other drivers
  • Ability to navigate the highway system independently as well as responsibly

The test is divided into three sections, with questions supplied as text and situations illustrated.

These scenarios concentrate on the skills and characteristics that are necessary for driving:
  • Examining the surroundings
  • Taking a look at a scenario
  • Making a decision
  • Detecting dangers
  • Predicting what might happen
  • Making wise choices

You can use the OEA strategy, which stands for observing, evaluating, and act. Practice employing this method as a passenger; that is the same practice that all competent drivers utilize on the road. This exercise can be done in a car or on the bus.

The OEA’s plan

Observe, or O of OEA, means

  • Pay attention to the traffic lights.
  • Reserved lanes and traffic lanes
  • Signs on the road
  • On the road, there are painted markings.
  • On the road, there are arrows painted.
  • Other road users’ presence and actions ( cyclists, pedestrians, etc.)
  • The activities of vehicles and their drivers (turn signal lights, brake lights, turn signal lights, speed, position, etc.)
  • The margin of safety between road users
  • Others

Evaluate or E of OEA means

  • Rules of the road, particularly those that relate to road sharing with others
  • Traffic signals and road signs have their own set of rules.
  • Regulations for emergency vehicles
  • Buses, for example, have their own set of rules.
  • Others

“A” of OEA or Act or choose your response based on the data you’ve gathered and examined means:

  • Apply the OEA technique to behavior analysis.
  • Examine the automobiles in the extended figure in numerical order
  • Choose and memorize the car numbers that match the scenario in the question.
  • Check to see whether the numbers you chose fit any of the answers.
  • If that’s the case, choose that option.
  • If not, go over the graphic illustration again.

Make an appointment

Once you’ve completed your preparation, you must schedule an appointment to see if you can take the test.

  • Take some time to read the question thoroughly
  • Take the time to use the OEA technique to decipher all of the information supplied
  • Apply your understanding of traffic rules, signs, and signals that apply to the circumstances, as well as any offenses involving a vehicle sharing the road on the road network.
  • Identify the data that will assist you in making your decision.
  • Select the appropriate numbers by looking at the automobiles in the extended graphic in numerical order (1 to 5)
  • Go back to the question and select your answer after memorizing the numbers of the vehicles you plan to include in your answer.

  • The test can be taken in any of the following languages: English, French, Spanish, Arabic, or Mandarin.
  • Use headphones and an audio track to test.
